The vast, central, dusty terrain in the Northern Territory, Australia, is known as the Red Centre. Here I saw Uluru - a monolith that is sacred to the indigenous Australians and was fascinated by the stories and myths of this ancient culture.
In this series 'Transitions' I have tried to capture the spirit of the place through an imagined creation story, illustrated with sketches and referenced by the etchings and markings on my ceramics.
Inspired by a trip to the Red Centre Australia , the work consists of three parts
– illustration, ceramics and a story, serving as a contrast to each other thereby
enhancing their intrinsic characteristics.
